Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Adapto Solutions ("RankBazaar", "we", "us") operates the RankBazaar mobile apps and the website at rankbazaar.in. You can reach us at support@adaptosolutions.in.

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below, and you are the Data Principal.

2. What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work:

• Account details from your sign-in provider. RankBazaar supports Google and Apple sign-in only, so we never receive or store a password. From Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. From Apple we receive your name and an email address, which is a private relay address if you chose Hide My Email.
• What you post: deals you submit, comments and replies, votes, and the deal alerts you create.
• Preferences stored on your device: saved deals, your votes, recent searches, recently viewed deals and your theme choice. These stay on the device unless you are signed in.
• Device and usage data: device model, operating system version, app version, language, IP address, crash reports and which screens you open. We use this to fix bugs and rank deals better.
• Affiliate click data: which deal you tapped, when, and an anonymous click identifier passed to the merchant or affiliate network. See section 6.
• On the website only: cookies and similar storage, described in section 13.

3. Why we use it

• To run the service: show you deals, keep you signed in, and store what you save.
• To send the deal alerts you asked for, by push notification or email, and only for the keywords you set up.
• To keep the community usable: detect spam, vote manipulation, fake deals and abuse, and to moderate reported content.
• To measure affiliate clicks and reconcile the commission merchants pay us, which is how RankBazaar is funded.
• To improve the product: understand which deals are useful, fix crashes, and improve ranking.
• To comply with law and to respond to lawful requests.

4. The basis on which we process your data

We process your personal data with your consent, which you give when you create an account, turn on notifications or choose to save deals. You can withdraw consent at any time — see section 11 — and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it.

Some processing happens for the "legitimate uses" the DPDP Act allows without separate consent, such as preventing fraud and complying with a legal obligation.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these situations:

• Service providers who run parts of the service for us — cloud hosting and databases, push notification delivery, crash reporting, analytics, and email or SMS delivery. They may only use the data to provide that service to us.
• Affiliate networks and merchants, when you tap through to a deal. They receive the click identifier and standard browser or device information, not your name or email.
• Public parts of the service: your username, the deals you post, your comments and your public profile stats are visible to everyone. Your saved deals, alerts and email address are not.
• Law enforcement, courts or regulators where we are legally required to disclose.
• A buyer or successor, if the business is merged or acquired, under the same commitments set out here.

6. Affiliate links and how clicks are tracked

Most deals on RankBazaar link to a merchant such as Amazon.in, Flipkart or Myntra through an affiliate link. When you tap "Get deal", we redirect you through our own link, add the affiliate tag, and pass an anonymous sub-identifier so the network can tell us that the click came from RankBazaar.

The merchant then sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy. If you buy something, we may receive a report telling us that a purchase happened, its value and category — not your name, address, payment details or order contents.

7. Notifications

Deal alerts are opt-in. Android asks for notification permission the first time you create an alert; iOS asks the first time you allow them. You can turn them off per alert inside the app, or entirely in your device settings, without losing your account.

8. How long we keep it

• Account data: while your account is open. When you delete it, we keep only what we need to meet a legal, tax or accounting obligation, evaluated against that obligation and deleted once it no longer applies.
• Content you posted: deals and comments may remain visible after account deletion, shown as posted by a deleted user, because other members rely on those threads. Ask us and we will remove specific posts.
• Device-side data (saved deals, votes, searches): until you clear it in the app or uninstall.
• Server logs and click data: for as long as needed for security, fraud prevention and understanding how the service is used, evaluated against that need.

9. How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted and logged, and we review our security practices periodically.

If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and every affected user as required by the DPDP Act.

10. Children

RankBazaar is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we do not use children’s data for tracking or targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us data, write to support@adaptosolutions.in and we will delete it.

11. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can:

• Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with.
• Ask us to correct or complete inaccurate data.
• Ask us to erase your data when it is no longer needed.
• Withdraw your consent, which stops further processing based on it.
• Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.
• Raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.

12. Exercising your rights

To delete your account, open Account and tap Delete account. It takes effect immediately: your reward points, saved deals, votes, searches and alerts are destroyed, and deals or comments you posted stay up shown as “Deleted member”. Encrypted backups age out within 30 days.

For anything else — a summary of your data, a correction, removal of specific posts, or to nominate someone — write to support@adaptosolutions.in from the email address on your account. We will acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days, or tell you why we need longer.

13. Cookies and similar technology (website)

• Essential storage keeps you signed in and remembers your session. The site does not work without it.
• Preference storage remembers your theme, saved deals and recent searches in your browser.
• Analytics storage tells us which pages and deals are used. You can decline it without losing functionality.
• You can clear or block this storage in your browser settings.

14. Transfers outside India

Our infrastructure providers may process data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Government of India and require contractual protections at least equal to those in this policy.

15. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
